Digital arts 4 - Panda Xiang Xiang of Ueno Park

At first, I wanted to follow Nicu's How-to Draw a hackergotchi (or just people heads) with Inkscape to draw my own face. But, the method used in the tutorial was too tedious and laborious and so I failed.  So I looked for my own way to do it and would try with a simpler photo. I found a photo of the panda calf Xiang Xiang of the Ueno Park of Tokyo. I used the Bezier curves tool instead of the calligraphic tool to do the job and found that it is easier. The vector graphics of the panda was then exported to Gimp and applied different filters to have different styles.

The followings are the outcomes of the attempt.
